Now Available: API Editions of Your Favorite Encompass PowerTools

Hi everyone,

We're excited to announce that seven of our most-used tools are now available as API editions — a significant upgrade over their original SDK versions.

Why the API editions are better than the SDK versions:

  • No plugin dependency. The API editions run server-side in the cloud, so there's nothing to deploy to each workstation and nothing to keep in sync as Encompass updates.
  • Works everywhere. Full support for both Encompass Desktop and Encompass Web — the same tool, same results, regardless of how your team logs in.
  • Faster and more reliable. Processing happens on scalable cloud infrastructure with built-in retries and error handling, instead of being limited by a single user's machine.
  • Centrally managed and observable. Configuration, updates, and monitoring are handled centrally, so improvements reach everyone instantly and issues are caught proactively.
  • More secure. Credentials and data flow through governed, audited API services rather than local SDK sessions.

FEMA Disaster Search - API


The FEMA Disaster Search tool can automatically pull FEMA Disaster Declarations directly from the FEMA source using the subject property's state and county, then records all relevant declarations from the past year to the loan file — no manual lookups required. The API edition removes the desktop dependency entirely, running the lookup and eFolder document write server-side with automatic retries, so disaster status is captured faster and more consistently across your entire pipeline.


FFIEC Lookup- API


The FFIEC Lookup tool performs a full FFIEC geocoding and census lookup with the click of a button or trigger rule automation, using the FFIEC APIs to download census tract, MSA, income, population, and housing data straight into the loan. The API edition streamlines the entire request end-to-end and can automatically add the FFIEC receipt to the eFolder, delivering the complete data set more quickly and reliably than the SDK version.


Loan Folder Move- API

Loan Folder Move dynamically relocates loans into the correct loan folders based on criteria you define inside a business rule — keeping your pipeline organized automatically. The API edition executes these moves server-side and centrally, so folder logic is applied consistently and instantly across all users without relying on a local plugin.


Home Counselor- API


Home Counselor automatically populates the Home Counseling Provider disclosure based on the borrower's address, saving time and reducing manual entry errors on every file. The API edition performs the address-based provider lookup and list population server-side, ensuring the compliant, correctly formatted list is generated quickly and consistently.



Field Explorer Pro- API


Field Explorer Pro lets you quickly search Encompass fields to confirm you're using the correct field — or that you're not duplicating one that already exists — dramatically cutting maintenance time and preventing costly errors when building custom tools. The API edition offers faster, always-current field discovery backed by centrally maintained field and reporting-database data.

User Touches- API


The User Touches tool gives mortgage lenders detailed visibility into how many times users "touch" a loan — and for how long — at various points throughout the loan workflow, as well as cumulatively. The API edition captures and aggregates this activity server-side for more accurate, consistent tracking and reporting across your whole team, independent of any one user's desktop session.

Audit Log - API


Audit Log provides an easy way to view the complete history of all auditable fields within loans in your Encompass environment, giving your compliance and operations teams a clear record of what changed and when. The API edition surfaces this field-change history through a fast, centrally maintained data service, making audits and investigations quicker and more reliable than the SDK version.
