Migrating PowerTools™ is a fairly simple procedure, but there are some uncommon steps that many customers miss, and it causes their PowerTools™ to either fail or revert to the Free tier.

🚫 DO NOT transfer the LTKToolShedSettings.xml CDO

🚫 DO NOT transfer any plugin files (files with the extension ".dll")

🚫 DO NOT transfer any custom input forms from the source Encompass. 


DEFINITIONS:

ENCOMPASS SOURCE - this is the Encompass environment that you will be transferring from and has hosted PowerTools for you up to this point.

ENCOMPASS DESTINATION - this is the Encompass environment you be be transferring to. Up to this point, this environment has not hosted any licensed copy of PowerTools™.

INSTRUCTIONS:


  1. IMPORTANT: Take note of the "do not list" and definitions list (see above) before proceeding.
  2. ENCOMPASS SOURCE: With Super Admin credentials, login to Input Form Manager.
  3. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Package Export Wizard...". The wizard popup will appear.
  4. On the "Export Package - Form Selection" form, DO NOT check any of the boxes. Click "Next >".
  5. On the "Export Package - Assembly Selection" form, DO NOT check any of the boxes. Click "Next >".
  6. On the "Export Package - Custom Fields Selection" form, DO NOT check any of the boxes. Click "Next >".
  7. On the "Export Package - Plugin Selection" form, DO NOT check any of the boxes. Click "Next >".
  8. On the "Export Package - Custom Data Object Selection" form, select all the CDO's that apply to Lender Toolkit, but DO NOT select "LTKToolShedSettings.xml". Click "Next >"
  9. On the "Export Package - Summary" form, click "Export". Save the EMPKG file to your hard drive at a location you will remember.
  10. Open the browser of your choice, and download the file located at https://www.lendertoolkit.com/powertools.empkg. Save the EMPKG file to your hard drive at a location you will remember, preferably at the same location as the file from step 9.
  11. ENCOMPASS DESTINATION: With Super Admin credentials, login to Input Form Manager.
  12. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Package Import Wizard...". The wizard popup will appear.
  13. On the "Import Package - Select Package" window, click the "Browse" button and select the file you exported in step 9. Click "Next >"
  14. On the "Import Package - Summary" window, confirm you are only importing custom data objects and that LTKToolShedSettings.xml is not one of them. Click the "Import" button. You should get an Encompass popup saying the package import completed successfully. Click the "OK" button.
  15. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Package Import Wizard..." again. The wizard popup will appear.
  16. On the "Import Package - Select Package" window, click the "Browse" button and select the file you downloaded in step 10. If you did not change the file name, it should be called "ToolShedPowerTools.empkg". Click "Next >".
  17. On the "Import Package - Summary" window, confirm the files being imported are related to PowerTools™ and LenderToolkit. Click the "Import" button. You should get an Encompass popup saying the package import completed successfully. Click the "OK" button. Another popup may appear asking you if you want to edit any custom forms, click the "No" button.
  18. ENCOMPASS DESTINATION: With Super Admin credentials, login to the Encompass Smart Client (aka Encompass).
  19. Click the "Encompass" menu and select "LTK PowerTools...".
  20. If all the steps above were done correctly, a registration form will appear. Fill it out with your company's information, but do not hit OK yet.
  21. CRITICAL STEP: for licensing to officially transfer over, the EMAIL address on the registration form must match EXACTLY to what you had it as on the ENCOMPASS SOURCE environment. If you do not know what email was registered, email support@lendertoolkit.com, and we will assist you with obtaining it. Click "OK" to register your PowerTools™ on the ENCOMPASS DESTINATION.
  22. If the email address was correct, the correct tier will populate when you open PowerTools. If not, you will have to contact support@lendertoolkit.com.
  23. PowerTools Core has now be officially migrated, but your individual products still need to be installed. You will need to open PowerTools™ and click the "Settings" button. From here, turn on all the products you wish to have installed. If you imported the custom data objects from the ENCOMPASS SOURCE environment, all your customized settings will be retained.
  24. Restart your ENCOMPASS DESTINATION environment so plugins will all load.
