Migrating PowerTools™ to a new Encompass® environment is generally simple, but missing a few key steps can lead to problems. This guide explains the process clearly so the migration proceeds smoothly.

Before Beginning: Items That Should Not Be Transferred

To avoid issues, the following items from the source environment should not be moved to the destination environment:

  • LTKToolShedSettings.xml (Custom Data Object)
  • Any .dll plugin files
  • Any custom input forms

Key Terms

  • Source Environment: The current Encompass® environment where PowerTools™ is installed.
  • Destination Environment: The new Encompass® environment where PowerTools™ is not yet installed.

Step-by-Step Migration Instructions

In the Source Environment:

  1. Log in to Encompass® using Super Admin credentials.
  2. Open Input Form Manager.
  3. Navigate to Tools > Package Export Wizard.
  4. In all of the following sections, no checkboxes should be selected:
    • Form Selection
    • Assembly Selection
    • Custom Fields Selection
    • Plugin Selection
  5. In the Custom Data Object Selection screen:
    • Select all Custom Data Objects related to Lender Toolkit
    • Do not select LTKToolShedSettings.xml
  6. Click Next, then Export.
  7. Save the generated .empkg file in an easily accessible location.
  8. Download the official PowerTools™ package from:
    Save it in the same location as the file from step 7.

In the Destination Environment:

  1. Log in to Encompass® using Super Admin credentials.
  2. Open Input Form Manager.
  3. Navigate to Tools > Package Import Wizard.
  4. Import the package exported from the source environment (step 7).
    • Confirm that only CDOs are being imported
    • Ensure LTKToolShedSettings.xml is not included
  5. Repeat the import process and select the PowerTools™ file downloaded from Lender Toolkit (step 8).
    • Confirm that the items are associated with PowerTools™ and Lender Toolkit
    • If prompted to edit custom forms, choose No

Final Setup in Encompass®

  1. Open the Encompass® Smart Client.
  2. Navigate to Encompass® > LTK PowerTools™…
  3. When the registration form appears, complete it using company information.
  4. Click OK to finalize registration.
    • If the email matches, the correct PowerTools™ tier will display
    • If it does not, support assistance will be required

Completion

  • Open PowerTools™ and select Settings
  • Enable desired tools
  • If CDOs were imported from the source environment, custom settings will carry over
  • Restart Encompass® to ensure all plugins load properly
