Migrating PowerTools™ to a new Encompass® environment is
generally simple, but missing a few key steps can lead to problems. This guide
explains the process clearly so the migration proceeds smoothly.
Before Beginning: Items That Should Not Be Transferred
To avoid issues, the following items from the source
environment should not be moved to the destination environment:
- LTKToolShedSettings.xml
(Custom Data Object)
- Any
.dll plugin files
- Any
custom input forms

- Source
Environment: The current Encompass® environment where PowerTools™ is
installed.
- Destination
Environment: The new Encompass® environment where PowerTools™ is not yet
installed.
Step-by-Step Migration Instructions
In the Source Environment:
- Log in
to Encompass® using Super Admin credentials.
- Open
Input Form Manager.
- Navigate
to Tools > Package Export Wizard.
- In all
of the following sections, no checkboxes should be selected:
- Form
Selection
- Assembly
Selection
- Custom
Fields Selection
- Plugin
Selection
- In the
Custom Data Object Selection screen:
- Select
all Custom Data Objects related to Lender Toolkit
- Do
not select LTKToolShedSettings.xml
- Click
Next, then Export.
- Save
the generated .empkg file in an easily accessible location.
- Download the official PowerTools™ package from:Save it in the same location as the file from step 7.
In the Destination Environment:
- Log in
to Encompass® using Super Admin credentials.
- Open
Input Form Manager.
- Navigate
to Tools > Package Import Wizard.
- Import
the package exported from the source environment (step 7).
- Confirm
that only CDOs are being imported
- Ensure
LTKToolShedSettings.xml is not included
- Repeat
the import process and select the PowerTools™ file downloaded from Lender
Toolkit (step 8).
- Confirm
that the items are associated with PowerTools™ and Lender Toolkit
- If
prompted to edit custom forms, choose No
Final Setup in Encompass®
- Open
the Encompass® Smart Client.
- Navigate
to Encompass® > LTK PowerTools™…
- When
the registration form appears, complete it using company information.
- The
email address must exactly match the email used in the source environment
- If
unsure, contact support@lendertoolkit.com
- Click
OK to finalize registration.
- If
the email matches, the correct PowerTools™ tier will display
- If
it does not, support assistance will be required
Completion
- Open
PowerTools™ and select Settings
- Enable
desired tools
- If
CDOs were imported from the source environment, custom settings will carry
over
- Restart
Encompass® to ensure all plugins load properly
Once these steps are completed, verify that PowerTools™ is
