Locksmith provides a quick, streamlined way for team members
to request access to a loan currently being worked on by someone else. Instead
of sending emails, making calls, or messaging in chat, users can send a
courteous alert directly within Encompass® with a single click. Once the loan
becomes available, the requester receives a notification right away.

Activation
To turn this tool on:
1. Log in to Encompass® as a Super Admin.
2. Open LTK PowerTools™ from the Encompass® menu. Confirm
the license includes the Expert, Optimized or Enterprise Tier.
3. Click Settings > PowerTools™ Expert tab.
4. Turn on Locksmith by clicking On.
Important: After activation of the Tool, be sure to wait for
the prompt stating that the download is complete prior to continuing.
5. Ensure a license number populated and restart Encompass®.
Email Notifications (Optional)
Locksmith uses the email settings configured in PowerTools
Core > General Settings.
- If
SMTP settings are already configured, Locksmith uses those.
- If
not, it defaults to Lender Toolkit’s SMTP server.
There is also a Test Email button to verify your
configuration.
Once activated, the Locksmith button will appear on the
Encompass pipeline.
How to Use Locksmith
When attempting to open a loan that is currently locked by
another user, Locksmith makes it easy to notify them.
- On the
Encompass pipeline, click the loan that is currently locked.
- Click
the Locksmith Button.
- A
popup confirms that the notification has been sent.
- The
user currently in the loan will receive a popup letting them know someone
is waiting.
- As
soon as they exit the loan, an email is sent to the user that requested
access.
Admin Settings
Administrators can manage who receives Locksmith
notifications:
- Navigate
to PowerTools > PowerTools Expert > Locksmith to open the Locksmith settings window.
- Choose
specific Users, Personas, or Groups to exclude from
receiving popups. Click Save.
For example, an administrator may choose to exclude the admin
user and the Closer persona from receiving notifications.
