The Docs and File Counter plugin is designed to monitor and report on the number of documents and attachments in a loan file. It automatically tracks:

  • Total number of documents
  • Total number of file attachments
  • Empty placeholders
  • Untitled documents
  • Unassigned attachments

This functionality is particularly useful for reporting, pipeline views, and building business rules based on document activity.

 

Activation

  1. Log in to Encompass® as a Super Admin.
  2. Open LTK PowerTools™ from the Encompass® menu and click Settings.
  3. Go to the PowerTools™ Free tab.
  4. Turn on Docs and File Counter by clicking On.
    5. Note: After activation of the Tool, be sure to wait for the prompt stating that the download is complete prior to continuing.
  5. Ensure a license number populated and restart Encompass®.

How It Works

Once activated:

  • The plugin runs every time a loan is saved.
  • It updates custom fields with document and attachment counts.
  • Data can be viewed by opening a loan and accessing the Admin – File Counter Plugin form.

 

Using the Data

  • The custom fields listed below can be added to the reporting database, pipeline views, or custom reports.
  • One of the custom field logs how long (in milliseconds) the plugin took to process the loan file, allowing performance monitoring during loan saves.
